A BRIEF HISTORY

Franco Belge has been making stoves for just over 90 years. Formed in 1926 in the French town of Merville, a pastoral little patch of Normandy dotted with farmhouses and narrow roads with sharp turns, it has been renowned ever since for its high-quality castings. Stoves, cookers, and boilers have all been made during their history utilising all fuel types, wood, coal, oil, and gas.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

THE ADVANTAGES OF CAST IRON STOVES

There are many benefits of cast iron over other materials, for example, once the fire has died the stove will retain its heat for much longer when compared with stoves constructed from other materials.
Cast iron has also proven over the centuries to be very durable under high temperatures.
Unlike steel, cast iron can be moulded into a large range of textures and designs giving the stoves their traditional appeal and added beauty.

Oil Stoves

They all run on C2 kerosene, domestic heating oil, and like an Aga are designed to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week on low throughout the heating season giving a gentle background heat. Ideal for people who want the visual impact of a wood burning stove but without the hassle and mess of a wood stove and already have an existing oil supply.

The Belfort will cost less than £2.00 a day to run.

Incorporating a highly efficient vaporising pot burner they can be lit manually or by an electric ignition kit. Once lit they require no electricity and the fuel is gravity fed to the stove so even in a power cut you can rely upon these stoves to keep you warm. Heat output is easily adjusted by a simple control knob metering the oil accurately via a Swiss made Toby oil control valve.

2002 – Establishment of the Staub Foundry and acquisition by the Staub Group.

2008 – Staub Group becomes a member of the German group ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS.
This combination allows them to offer a complete range of kitchenware, ceramics, individual heating appliances and high-end stoves. Distributors in the UK were ACR Heat Products in Birmingham.

2014 – The company “Franco Belge Europe” buys the brand from the Staub group. Wanting to refresh the brands image the distribution was transferred to Euroheat Distributors, located in Worcestershire, where they re-established the name as a brand leader with expert technical support and spare parts availability over the next two and a half years.

ABGO logo2017 – The owners of Euroheat decide to retire and a new distributor in the UK is found, ABGO based near Wolverhampton.

Already a major player in the heating industry with an established name for service and technical backup they also took on board the Franco Belge product manager from Euroheat to help ensure as little disturbance to the brands name as possible.

New products are brought into the range of cast iron stoves and the oil stoves are re-introduced by popular demand from dealers in the more rural areas of the UK.
The first contemporary wood burning stoves are unveiled to compliment the range with efficiencies of 80%.
